26 nurses quit because of sexual violence by a surgeon at the Royal Rose Hospital

On September 18, one of the most famous hospitals in Mandalay, the Royal Rose Hospital, a surgical specialist, Dr. Peter Thein Swe, said that 26 nurses and nursing assistants resigned after insulting a nurse in front of a patient.
The nurse said, “A man does not have the right to hurt or abuse a woman without her permission, nor does she have the right to speak.” In the same way, a doctor has no right to do anything to a teacher except for patient matters. He started working at the Royal Rose Hospital on 1.9.2023 and left his job on 18.9.2023.
Dr. Peter Than Swe told the nurses and junior doctors not to avoid the patient in front of the patient during OPD visits and room rounds. In addition to hurting the patient with the tools used to inject the medicine, the hospital was notified to solve the problem, but there was no solution.
Although BVJ contacted the hospital about this incident, there was no response. A doctor who worked with Dr. Peter Than Swe said that he was a former commander of Mandalay, General Ye Myint and his father’s brother-in-law.
